2010

• FF/NFD seek funding to initiate study on development of central area
• Phoenix board starts discussing new building

2011
• July: David Strong visits for initial meeting with Phoenix
• Sept: Phoenix commissions KFM to prepare concept for new building
• Late year: Community Enterprise Consultancy undertakes feasibility study including stakeholder & community input

2012
• May: feasibility study released
• Aug: Ronald Zeilstra - ZN Design prepare design options for central area masterplan
• Aug: first central area development meeting with FF, NFA, NFD, Phoenix
• Aug: May 2013 - Central area development (CAD) group develop plans for zoning central area, and site for New Phoenix is identified.

2013
• April: community presentation
• May: presentation to FF Trustee, & approval to proceed with first stage of
• Central Area Development: a new building for the Phoenix
• Aug: initial brief issued to about 10 architects
• Sept: brief issued to shortlisted architects
• Oct: Eco Design Partners appointed as Design Team
• Nov: CAD group presents current plans to community
• Nov: CAD group presents to FF trustees. Approval in principle to sell land for atsite of new Phoenix, subject to business plan and plans incorporating a Welcome Centre
• Nov/Dec: Design Team visits & holds community consultation

2014
• Jan - March: work continues
• March: Design Team visits for second community consultation

  • May: finalise brief for shop, cafe & reception area
  • June: finalise drawings (building & site layout)
  • June: community meeting (primarily informational)
  • Oct: approval/confirmation to proceed from FF Trustees, Phoenix board, NFD
  • Nov: Fundraising - prospectus for investors/funders
    • Moving forward our aim is to:
      2015

      • Mar: submit planning application
      • May onwards: initial tendering/detailed costings as required for funding
      • Oct: receive planning approval
